Do You Have Depression?
Everyone feels a bit down from time to time. It could be because things have not gone their way, they may have fallen out with a good friend or even perhaps had a run of bad luck.
That doesn’t generally mean your depressed though, depression tends to be longer term as opposed to just having the short term blues.
So what are the symptoms. Depression can manifest itself in several different ways depend on the make up of the person in question, but generally somebody suffering from depression won’t feel like eating, socializing or sleeping.
They have feelings of despair and loneliness and often feel alienated form others.
They can also feel worthless or consumed by strange guilt for nothing they have done wrong. Depressed people are also often very lethargic and seem to have no sense of reality when it comes to differentiating between the important or trivial.
Even the simplest of challenges can seem like a massive weight on there shoulders.
But most importantly quite often they will be in denial, so if you think a friend or work colleague is suffering, help them get professional advice as soon as possible.
