Bacterial Vaginosis Can Be Relieved For Good, Do Not Always Follow Your Doctors Advice

It seems like doctors are always handing out the same information about bacterial vaginosis. Don’t wear pantyhose, wear natural fabrics, use unscented products, etc. For chronic sufferers of bacterial vaginosis, these recommendations are condescending, implying that the only reason why these women continue to suffer from it is that they haven’t been following doctor’s orders properly.

Perhaps most disturbing is the fact that many people in the medical field blame the reoccurrence on the woman having excessive numbers of sexual partners. One site went so far as to state that women who have never had sexual intercourse were rarely affected. Statements like these are detrimental to the women who are chronic sufferers of bacterial vaginosis and looking for a cure, adding to the stigma and embarrassment that has become associated with the disease.

Doctors seem to only be aware of one cure for bacterial vaginosis – antibiotics. Successful for a very small percentage, the majority of BV sufferers are not cured. Some doctors will insist on multiple courses of treatments, even though if they didn’t work the first time, chances are they won’t work consequent time; the woman must have a strain of BV that is very resistant to antibiotics.

For these women, the medical community needs to take a harder look at the prescribed course of treatment for bacterial vaginosis in order to supply them with a real cure. You’d be hard-pressed to find another disease where so many sufferers, for whom the prescribed course of action is insufficient, patients are ignored and no changes to treatment made.

You need to understand what causes bacterial vaginosis in order to find a lasting cure. ’Bad’ bacteria, the kind that cause bacterial vaginosis, thrive when the PH level in the vagina is upset.

Many women have found relief taking probiotic supplements. Probiotics are live bacteria, either taken in capsules or found in some kinds of yogurts, that can help replenish the ‘good’ bacteria found in the vagina. The more ‘good’ bacteria you have, the harder it is for the ‘bad’ bacteria to take over.

For those who cannot be cured either by antibiotics or probiotics, a more intensive alternative therapy is needed. I had to find a combination of different things, it took a while, but I finally did – check out my review “Bacterial Vaginosis Relief” to see what finally cured me once and for all.

There is not one aspect of a woman’s life that is not affected when she is suffering from bacterial vaginosis; the medical community needs to recognize that. A cure should be readily available for these women; they shouldn’t have to take it upon themselves to research and find a cure for themselves.
